MyID Powered Smart Card Management
Project Reaches 500,000 User Milestone
Intercede is pleased to announce that an additional
order for 200,000 MyID licenses has been received from Gemalto,
bringing the total number of licenses ordered to date to 500,000
in support of a single European public sector customer. The robust
and highly scalable nature of Intercede's MyID card technology will
enable this major customer to deliver card management services to
over 1 million employees and contractors on a 24/7 basis. This project
is one of the largest employee focused smart card deployments in
the world and demonstrates the suitability of MyID for very large
scale, complex environments.
A number of key MyID features have been utilized
to provide a fully scalable and integrated solution, maximizing
the use of existing infrastructure while minimizing the risks and
deployment time, including:
- Integration with an in-house identity management
system(IDMS) - to provide a single point of user interaction for
all card and identity management
- Customization of ID card issuance and management
workflows to match required business processes - minimizing operator
training requirements
- Data retrieval from an existing central user
data store - to avoid re-keying of information
- Connection to a centralised Entrust Public
Key Infrastructure (PKI) certificate authority for certificate
production
- Distributed deployment to more than 1,500
remote desktop enrolment and issuance stations for integrated
card printing and chip encoding
