Intercede Nets Prestigious Deloitte &
Touche Technology Fast 50 Award
Lutterworth, UK , February 25th, 2002 - Intercede
Group plc (AIM: IGP), a leading developer of electronic identity
management software, is celebrating its success in the Deloitte
& Touche Fast 50 Awards. Intercede is delighted to have been
ranked 8th in the Midlands region of the Deloitte & Touche
Technology Fast 50 awards and received its award at a ceremony
held at the national Motorcycle Museum in Birmingham.
Intercede, established in 1992, was one of
the first companies to utilize electronic identity management
to develop secure access solutions for the lucrative Finance,
Government and enterprise segments. Intercede's edefice electronic
identity management software allows organizations to quickly deploy
smart card, token and PKI solutions ranging from PC, network,
and remote access to combined logical and physical access, while
cutting costs and complexity.
"We are honoured to be recognized for
the strides we are making in electronic identity management,"
said Richard Parris, Intercede CEO. "By focusing on solving
business problems, delivering real ROI and making it easy for
customers to adopt smart card, token and PKI technology, Intercede
has taken the leadership role. We will continue to pioneer applying
electronic identity management software to the pains of the market."
The Fast 50 programme, now in its fourth year,
tracks the growth rates of technology companies operating in the
telecommunications, hardware, software and biotechnology markets
across seven regions in the UK and Ireland. It is co-sponsored
by UK law firm and technology specialist, Pinsent Curtis Biddle,
and techMARK, the London Stock Exchange market for technology
companies. The Computing Services and Software Association are
also supporting the programme this year.
Chris Robertson, partner in charge of the Technology,
Media and Telecommunications sector at Deloitte & Touche in
Birmingham, commented: "Our Fast 50 programme has been a
huge success since its inception and has quickly become a recognized
benchmark for performance in the technology sector. The Midlands
is, without a doubt, becoming an increasingly significant region
for technology and growth, aided by the quality of our universities
and science parks and the ambition of local development agencies."
"The strength of this year's entries,
like Intercede, is proof that companies which focus on the quality
of their business models, management teams and processes can not
only withstand the industry's recent turmoil, but also prosper.
It is encouraging to see clusters springing up across the region
with the both the more established and younger companies performing
well despite harsher trading conditions," added Mr. Robertson.
